Verengo Solar Announces 5,000th Home Installation

Verengo Solar has announced it has installed its 5000th home solar system. Verengo is the first Southern California based company to reach this milestone and has accomplished this growth in just four years.

The 5.6KW system was installed this summer (24 panels in less than six hours) on the roof Eileen Thorgusen's Thousand Oaks home. Mrs. Thorgusen, a working mother who lives with her husband and two children, said the family financed the installation through Verengo's popular zero down financing plan in conjunction with SunRun.

"It's the only time in my life I've gotten 'something for nothing' and literally I mean nothing, " Mrs. Thorgusen enthused.

"The whole solar system installation has been incredible from the day we were first contacted to the day four weeks later when we turned the system on and saw the meter run 'backward.'

"All we had to do was sign the paperwork to lease the panels from the company and after twenty years we own the system. Our Verengo 'Advocate' Cathi Harris took care of everything in terms of permitting, paperwork and installation."

"I'm still in shock that I have had such a fantastic experience with this company," Mrs. Thorgusen continued. "This was one of the best service experiences I've ever had and I can't recommend this company and its employees highly enough!"

"The first month after our system was installed our utility payment and the leasing fee together were one half as much as our usual July utility bill," Mrs. Thorgusen said adding that she understands it will take a full calendar year for her family to accurately judge their total savings.

"The success of our business is directly tied to the success of our customers in lowering their monthly utility payments," said Verengo President and Co-founder Ken Button.

"The Verengo PV system generally produces an excess amount of power on hot, sunny days, which is passed on to the grid under a net metering agreement with the utility and turning the customers electricity meter backward," he further explained.

"The process is actually not that complicated which when combined with the substantial drop in prices brought on by recent technological advances and financing options is the reason why so many people are making the decision to go solar."

"We're very proud to have achieved this industry milestone so quickly," said CEO and Co-founder Randy Bishop. "Ken and I are thankful for the opportunity to be part of industry which produces clean, affordable energy, and creates jobs for the communities we work in."
