Branchburg, NJ (SPX) Feb 23, 2011 Vanguard Energy Partners has five solar power projects under way in New Jersey totaling 755 kilowatts in clean, renewable energy from Sharp solar modules. The solar power systems will produce enough green energy each year to prevent the emission of more than 631 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to conserving more than 70,946 gallons of gasoline. The rooftop array on the Witte Company in Washington, New Jersey, is comprised of five separate systems, utilizing more than 533 224-watt Sharp solar modules. When completed in early spring, the Witte solar system is expected to provide 100 percent of this manufacturing company's energy needs. Labern Machine Products in Somerville, New Jersey, is expected to meet 100% of their energy requirements by installing a 104-kilowatt array, comprised of 468 Sharp 224-watt panels. Stafford Intermediate School in Manahawkin, New Jersey has installed a 156-kilowatt solar array comprised of Sharp 235-watt panels on a canopy over the school's main entrance. The project was completed in November 2010 and in addition to reducing the schools carbon footprint, this particular solar array is also being used to help educate New Jersey students about the science behind solar power and the benefits of renewable energy. The Indoor Sports Pavilion in Randolph, New Jersey generates 358 kilowatts of clean, green energy. Comprised of 1556 Sharp solar panels, the Sports Pavilion array is expected to power approximately 94 percent of the facility's annual energy requirements. And Vanguard Energy is currently installing a fifth array in New Jersey - a 17-kilowatt rooftop system at Billy Pauch Racing in Frenchtown. "New Jersey is a regional leader in solar power and we look forward to powering many more clean energy projects in the state." The Vanguard Energy projects in New Jersey will use Sharp's ND-224UC1 and NU-U235 F3 solar modules. Using breakthrough technology, made possible by nearly 50 years of proprietary research and development, these panels offer high power output per square foot of solar array.
