US troubleshooter Richardson arrives in N.Korea: Xinhua

Veteran US troubleshooter Bill Richardson arrived in North Korea on Thursday, China's official Xinhua news agency reported, amid heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula.

The New Mexico governor, who said in Beijing before heading to Pyongyang that he hoped to "make a difference" in terms of calming the tense situation, was expected to stay in the secretive country until Monday.

The Xinhua report did not give any further details.

The United States said Tuesday that North Korea has "at least one other" uranium enrichment site than that disclosed to US experts last month, saying the issue raised concerns.
