Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT), a leader in aerospace and defense technology, has reached a pivotal milestone by delivering the first Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) to the U.S. Army, marking a significant advancement in long-range precision fire capabilities. This delivery underscores the Army's ongoing modernization efforts and Lockheed Martin's role in enhancing the U.S. military's operational proficiency.

Following a successful production qualification test at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, in November, these initial deliveries of the PrSM represent a critical step in strengthening the U.S. Army's long-range deterrent capabilities. Jay Price, the vice president of Precision Fires at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, emphasized the importance of the collaboration between the Army and Lockheed Martin teams. "Thanks to the close collaboration between Army and Lockheed Martin teams, we accelerated PrSM's development program on an aggressive schedule to deliver this next-generation missile faster than ever before," Price stated. He also expressed pride in supporting the Army's top modernization priority with this long-range deterrent capability.

The PrSM, a next-generation long-range precision strike missile, is designed to neutralize targets beyond 400 kilometers. It features a modular, open systems architecture, ensuring maximum flexibility and future growth potential. The missile's compatibility with existing systems such as the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) highlights its integration into the Army's current infrastructure.

Lockheed Martin's innovative approach in developing the PrSM includes the use of digital tools like augmented reality, ARISE advanced modeling and simulation, data analytics, and a software factory. These advanced technologies have played a crucial role in accelerating the development process, improving producibility, quality, and performance of the missile.

As Lockheed Martin continues to ramp up its manufacturing efforts, subsequent deliveries of PrSM will proceed, aligning with the Army's Early Operational Capability (EOC) requirements. This ongoing production will support the fulfillment of current contracts and the Army's broader modernization priorities.

The PrSM's delivery is a testament to Lockheed Martin's commitment to advancing military technology and its role in bolstering the U.S. Army's long-range strike capabilities. The integration of this new missile into the Army's arsenal represents a significant enhancement in the United States' strategic military resources, marking a new era in precision strike technology.
