Trina Solar has announced that it has supplied more than 43,000 modules for a ground-mounted installation project being carried out at North Norfolk Business Centre by Oskomera Solar Power Solutions on behalf of Hazel Capital.

This installation demonstrates Oskomera and Trina Solar's shared commitment to delivering solar PV projects with an awareness of their environmental and social responsibilities, according to Richard Rushin, UK Sales Manager at Trina Solar: "Large-scale solar farms such as this are going to play an increasingly significant part in the UK renewable energy mix over the next few years, but it is important that they are developed in a way that is respectful of the local ecology.

"Trina Solar recently topped the Silicon Valley Toxics Commission's rankings for the environmental performance of PV manufacturers for the second consecutive year, and we are delighted to be working with Oskomera on a project that will benefit the local environment in wider ways," he said.

Having already completed several MW worth of projects across the UK using Trina Solar modules, the team at Oskomera was confident in the company's ability to deliver on the requirements for this installation, Managing Director Dennis Gieselaar explained:

"Of all the Tier 1 suppliers we evaluated, we opted for Trina Solar based on both the quality of the products and the approach of the company. The high efficiency and excellent performance in low irradiance conditions of the PC05A modules enabled us to achieve a greater installed capacity and design the installation to be sensitive to its surroundings. Ground-mounted arrays are perfect for land use diversification - animals can graze safely around the panels, and the sites lend themselves to wild mix planting to enhance biodiversity," he said.

"What's more, everyone we dealt with at Trina Solar was very open and communicative throughout the entire process. In what was a difficult trading period because of wider industry factors beyond our control, the support and co-operation we received from Trina Solar was invaluable in ensuring the project was completed on schedule."

The installation at North Norfolk Business Park is the first on which Oskomera has worked with Hazel Capital, but Gieselaar hopes it will be the first of many: "A fundamental part of our business ethos is to forge strong relationships with our partners and clients alike. After having such a positive experience working on this project with Trina Solar and Hazel Capital, we are hopeful that there will be plenty more in the pipeline," he said.

Rushin said: "At a time when market conditions have been particularly challenging, it is all the more important to provide high-quality products and services. The selection of Trina Solar modules for this project is testimony to the manufacturing quality and customer service offered by Trina Solar, and a vindication of the effort that goes into developing modules that not only meet but greatly exceed international industry standards. We look forward to the possibility of continuing our working relationship with Oskomera on further projects."

The 10.97MWp capacity of the array was achieved using Trina Solar's TSM-PC05A Honey polycrystalline modules at a mix of 250, 255, and 260Wp ratings. A total of 43,208 modules were supplied to Oskomera for the completion of the project. Work began on the project in August 2013, and the installation is expected to be completed in late November 2013.
