Sunrun Brings Affordable Home Solar Service to Nevada
by Staff Writers
San Francisco CA (SPX) Aug 19, 2014

The company's expansion in Nevada is due in large part to the efforts of the state legislature and Governor Brian Sandoval in promoting a dependable residential rooftop solar program in cooperation with NV Energy. NV Energy's SolarGenerations Program begins accepting applications today.

Sunrun has announced the availability of its home solar service in Nevada. Through its service, Nevada residents can now get a solar system installed on their home with no money down and begin saving on their electricity bills immediately.

Sunrun will design, install, finance, insure, monitor and maintain the system, while homeowners just pay for the clean power it generates at a lower rate than their current utility.

As the first company to introduce solar as a service to American homeowners, Sunrun has reinvented the way people buy electricity. Sunrun gives homeowners access to the smartest energy source - sunlight - and takes care of everything so families can focus on more important things, like putting savings back in their pockets each month.

"We are excited to offer Nevada families a new choice in how they purchase electricity, especially electricity from a near limitless clean energy source, the sun," said Lynn Jurich, Sunrun's chief executive officer.

"Nevadans should have the opportunity to take advantage of homegrown power. Our vision is to create a planet powered by the sun and allowing residents of Nevada to start enjoying the benefits of Sunrun solar helps us all achieve that goal."

The company's expansion in Nevada is due in large part to the efforts of the state legislature and Governor Brian Sandoval in promoting a dependable residential rooftop solar program in cooperation with NV Energy. NV Energy's SolarGenerations Program begins accepting applications today.

"Sunrun's entry in the market is proof that the Nevada Legislature's steady work last session on renewable energy policy is making a difference," said Assemblyman David Bobzien, chairman of the Assembly Committee on Commerce and Labor.

"We welcome the company to Nevada as one more option for our constituents when it comes to their energy choices."

Over the next several years, Sunrun expects to create hundreds of clean economy jobs in the state beginning with the opening of a warehouse and office in Las Vegas this year. Interested applicants can visit Sunrun's Careers page to view and apply for open positions.

Sunrun has been installing high quality solar systems for 17 years. The company was the first to give homeowners an affordable option to go solar without the high upfront cost.

When homeowners choose Sunrun solar they can expect unrivaled expertise, trusted service and solar customized for their specific home and lifestyle, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Sunrun is different from other residential solar providers in the state because the company:

+ Offers a variety of affordable solar products and pricing options to maximize savings

+ Guarantees system performance and does not charge for any over-production by the system

+ Always offers a roof warranty of up to 10 years after system installation
