SOVENTIX has signed a PPA with the Chilean company Vina Cono Sur for the realization of a solar power plant project. The plant with a nominal output of just under 100 kilowatts peak (kWp) is built in an area of approximately 1.800 square meters on a vineyard in Peralillo in the Colchagua Valley. With the generated electricity of around 174,200-kilowatt hours (kWh) per year, irrigation pumps are operating for the vineyard of about 200 hectares.

The project partners were brought together by the "Smart Energy Concepts" initiative by the German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, funded by the German Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Nuclear Safety. The aim of this initiative is to assist companies in the Chilean agricultural and food sector to reduce their CO2 emissions.

SOVENTIX implements the plant following the ESCO model and, in addition to the planning and the approval process, also takes over the construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant and sells the electricity to the winery under a long-term electricity sales contract (PPA).

"With our comprehensive service package, we relieve our customers of activities outside their core business and help them reduce their environmental footprint and reduce energy costs. Besides, they receive planning certainty with a long-term contract that guarantees electricity below the network-related net price, "says Thomas Stetter, CEO of SOVENTIX Chile.

"We see great potential in the Chilean solar market and are very interested in SOVENTIX solar solutions. In close partnership with the German-Chilean Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), we want to exploit this potential and push forward the expansion of solar energy in Chile. "

Last year, the project developer had launched a solar fund in Chile. For investments in solar power plants project portfolios with a total scope of 100 MWp, consisting of individual projects of 3 MWp, SOVENTIX offers investors total solutions that are a great interest rate.
