Severodvinsk submarine launches first cruise missile at ground targets

The multi-purpose nuclear submarine Severodvinsk passing the tests in the White Sea, has successfully completed the shooting of the most up-to-date cruise missile at ground targets, a source in the Russian military-industrial complex informed ITAR-TASS.

"During the tests in the White Sea, the leading multipurpose nuclear submarine Severodvinsk of the project 885 (cipher "Ashtree") from the surface position has carried out the first launch of the marine supersonic cruise missiles at ground target.

"The launch was successful, the target was hit", the Agency's interlocutor said.
