The WindConnect team recorded only one lost-time injury in over 1.6 million project hours worked for a lost workday rate of 0.13 versus an industry average of 2.60. The team had a total recordable injury rate of 0.78 compared to an industry average of 4.9 (based on 2007 Bureau of Labor Statistics, NAICS Code 237, Heavy Construction).

RMT has announced that its WindConnect team provided engineering and construction services for over 690 MW of wind energy facilities, assisted with the siting and development of over 30 facilities, and achieved industry-leading safety performance in 2008.

"The WindConnect team's ability to safely and efficiently deliver initial siting and development services through facility design and construction has allowed RMT to experience yet another year of strong growth, while increasing the US renewable energy supply," explains RMT President Steve Johannsen.

RMT's 2008 wind energy project portfolio included design and construction work at several wind energy facilities, including Fowler Ridge (IN), the largest US wind farm built in 2008; Big Sky (IL); Edom Hills (CA); Cedar Ridge (WI); Michigan Wind 1 (MI); Locust Ridge II (PA); and Flat Ridge (KS). With the work completed in 2008, RMT has provided design-build construction services for over 3,100 MW of wind energy facilities across the United States.

"The fact that we have been able to provide this increased level of service while continually improving our health and safety performance," says Johannsen, "speaks volumes about our commitment to safely delivering a quality end product."
