PV integrated curtain wall.

Rock Valley College, nearing completion in August 2011, has finished installation of a 1.2kW Photovoltaic (PV) Integrated Curtain Wall located at the South and South East corner of the 106,000 Math and Science Center Building. The 50% Visibly Transmitting Curtain Wall will harvest needed light into the second floor Greenhouse while producing electricity from the sun.

Atlantis Energy Systems, Inc designed and supplied the outer glass layer of the integrated unit with 6"x 6" Polycrystalline silicon or multi-crystal Si cells in 10 different glass sizes and circuited layouts laminated with a advanced, long-life encapsulate or Hermetically sealed to withstand entrance of environmental contaminants.

In addition to the before mentioned, Atlantis Energy Systems, Inc. team of engineers and architects provided added customer support services such as specifications, third party commissioning recommendations, bid documentation and design assistance.

Designed by Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects and Demonica Kemper Architects with A Design Consulting and Rock Valley Glass Company the college is redefining its future both academically and through example showcasing a 1.2KW PV Integrated Curtain Wall at the centers second floor Greenhouse.
