Penske Truck Leasing announced the release of Fleet I.Q. version 4.0 -- the next generation of state-of-the- art fleet management tools. Available exclusively through Penske's Precision Plus full-service lease, Fleet I.Q. enables fleet managers to employ GPS and wireless technology to affordably measure, monitor and manage critical performance for truck fleets large and small.

"Fleet managers increasingly want tools that make their jobs easier," said Penske's Jim Feenstra, Senior Vice President - Marketing. "Our Fleet I.Q. system capabilities combined with our robust fleet management services do just that by offering an exceptional suite of onboard fleet management technology tools, outstanding financing and preventive vehicle maintenance."

The latest upgrades available in Fleet I.Q. 4.0 enable fleet managers to receive real-time notifications via e-mail, phone or pager when vehicles are operated outside preset parameters. The Smart Check and Exceptions functions provide fleet managers with better visibility into monitoring driver logs, low MPG performance and high idle times.

Backed by technology from XATA, Fleet I.Q. features an impressive suite of fleet management tools including: real-time vehicle tracking; electronic driver logs; MPG monitoring; vehicle starts, stops and idle times; automated state fuel tax reporting; two-way driver messaging; and accident reconstruction with 60-second black box recording. New fuel purchase and driver log wizards also enable administrative personnel to upload this information directly to a secure Web site from their PCs.
