OCI Solar Power has announced the completion of its first solar plant in Vineland, New Jersey. The solar facility, Vineland Solar IV, developed on 38 acres on Delsea Drive is now operational and generating power from the sun using more than 13,000 solar modules onsite. The project, constructed with leading solar PV technology, is 3 megawatts in size and will power the equivalent of 2,500 homes during daylight hours.

"The completion of the Vineland Solar IV facility is another big step toward creating a more sustainable and green future for the Vineland community," said Nick Bullinger, chief operating officer for OCI Solar Power.

"It is the first of two projects for OCI Solar in Vineland and we are grateful for the community's partnership and support. The second project on Elmer Road is expected to begin construction in early Summer 2012."

OCI Solar Power will operate the Delsea Drive solar facility and sell the electricity it produces to the Vineland Municipal Electric Utility for providing power to area homes and businesses. The additional sustainable energy source will mean increased efficiencies and renewable energy costs for the area.

The Delsea Drive project is one of 40 solar projects currently under development by OCI Solar Power. The company was recently named as a finalist for one of the nation's largest solar power development projects in the country to be constructed in Texas.

"Vineland Solar IV is not only significant to the city of Vineland but is also very special for OCI Solar Power. We launched our company only a year ago by bringing together solar power and energy experts with OCI Company, one of the world's leading green energy companies. The Vineland project marks the first project that OCI Solar Power has developed as a team. The Delsea Drive facility will be a cornerstone of our business moving forward," said Bullinger.
