Nu Energy, in partnership with Bright Generation, this week launched a sleek new energy management system that can halve average household power bills.

The Solarcombi is the only purpose-built product on the market that integrates solar electricity with solar hot water in one energy-ef?cient and cost-effective unit.

The smart new design delivers the equivalent of up to 3 kilowatts of installed capacity to offset up to 50 per cent of an average household's total energy use, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5.3 tonnes per year.

Operating household appliances, controlling room temperature and heating water account for over half of the total energy consumption in the average Australian home1. Current government solar credits apply to the ?rst 1.5 kilowatts of solar electricity capacity installed - or approximately 25 per cent of that average household energy use1 - with solar credits also available for solar hot water.

Although individual solar electricity and solar hot water units are available and can be installed separately, the Solarcombi is the ?rst system to combine the two functions in a single streamlined and attractive design.

Its panels blend neatly with conventional rooftops and a unique quick-connect feature enables swift installation by the Nu Energy team of accredited solar specialists.

Nu Energy is an Australian-owned company that has installed more than 18,000 solar systems across the residential and commercial sectors over the past 20-plus years.

CEO Simon Schauble is proud to announce Nu Energy's alliance with the Australian solar research and development specialist, Bright Generation, and to be able to offer the Solarcombi to the Australian consumer.

"We're excited to be involved with a product of this calibre. The opportunity it presents for cost-effective energy offset will change the way people think about solar," Mr Schauble said.

The Solarcombi incorporates photovoltaic panels developed by SOLON in Germany and thermal collectors by TiSUN in Austria, and is available in two models. The Premium system and the Classic system both deliver world-class technology, innovative features, stylish design and generous warranties, but have been packaged to provide different price options for Solarcombi customers.

All solar systems installed by Nu Energy are certi?ed through the Clean Energy Council and are accredited for use in Australia.
