Five U.S. companies are to compete for U.S. Navy task orders to provide ocean services worldwide until March of 2018. The services under contracts from the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center will be conducted at all water depths and include construction, maintenance, installation, inspection repair or salvage operations. "Ocean engineering services are an integral part of the Navy's mission," said NAVFAC EXWC Commanding Officer Capt. Mark. K. Edelson. "The work to be performed by these contractors includes ocean cables systems, ocean work systems such as shipboard load handling systems and undersea work systems, waterfront facilities, offshore structures and other vital infrastructure projects." Recipients of the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity awards worth $99 million are: Truston Technologies, Inc. of Lafayette, La.; Sound & Sea Technology Inc., of Lynnwood, Wash.; GPA Technologies Inc., Ventura, Calif.; PCCI Inc., Alexandria, Va.; and MAR Range Services LLC, Rockville, Md. Additional details of the awards were not disclosed.
