In mid-August, MARSS successfully completed a counter-unmanned aerial system (CUAS) trial in the Middle East, demonstrating the capability to detect, track, classify, and neutralize a range of drone threats under challenging environmental conditions.

The two-day trial involved complex scenarios aimed at testing the system's performance against various types of drones, including fixed-wing, VTOL (vertical take-off and landing), micro, and mini drones. MARSS's integrated system surpassed customer expectations, effectively detecting and tracking micro-drones from over two kilometers away and providing clear optical identification at 1.5 kilometers. All targets were successfully neutralized using RF soft-kill technologies.

"This was a challenging target set, with varying complex scenarios in a particularly busy and convoluted environment. Our team's ability to perform flawlessly under these conditions is a testament to the robustness and reliability of our core command and control and integration process, as well as the talent of our partners," said Josh Harman, Vice President of Sales at MARSS.

The system's performance in extreme temperatures, with daytime highs exceeding 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit), was a key highlight of the trial. This capability is vital for potential customers in regions where equipment must endure intense heat. The exercises, conducted during both day and night, also showcased NiDARS AI capabilities in classifying and verifying asymmetric targets.

The MARSS solution integrates top-tier technologies from partner vendors, including short and long-range RF detection from BlueHalo, long-range EO/IR cameras from L3 Harris, an impenetrable 360-degree radar-web from Echodyne, and directional RF defeat systems from Kirintec. These technologies are seamlessly integrated into MARSS's proprietary NiDAR platform, providing operators with an end-to-end capability on a single interface that significantly reduces the decision-making process and cognitive load on operators.

"By successfully demonstrating our 'detect to defeat' capabilities against the customer's chosen target set, we've shown that MARSS can deliver on its claims. Our ability to detect, identify, and track micro-drones, which are barely twice the size of a mobile phone, addresses a critical security concern for many of our potential clients," added Khalid Albadr, Business Development Manager, Middle East, at MARSS.

Representatives from various agencies within the prospective client nation attended the trial, reflecting a broad interest in critical infrastructure protection, national defense, and border security.

This trial represents a significant milestone in the client's competitive bid process, which follows a year of presentations and technical submissions. By proving its capabilities in real-world conditions, MARSS has solidified its position as a contractor capable of delivering comprehensive, agnostic integrated security solutions for complex threat environments.
