Inman Solar Completes Two Solar Roof Installations

Inman Solar and Kenco announce the completion of two, 200 kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) installations in Chattanooga, TN. Each of these installations was installed at separate Kenco distribution centers at 350 Corporate Place and 650 Wauhatchie Pike. Combined, these installations will produce enough electricity to power 40 homes per year.

"These installations were built by Inman Solar and are owned and operated by us," said Mark Jones, Principal of Inman Solar.

"You can think of the solar arrays as tenants of the Kenco distribution center. Kenco collects rent for leasing us the roof space and Inman Solar earns income by selling electricity to Electric Power Board as part of Tennessee Valley Authority's Generation Partners program."

"This installation is a great example of our commitment to our environment and the production of clean, renewable energy," said Wilson McGinness, Director of Leasing for JDK Real Estate.

"The concept of a solar photovoltaic roof lease was a win for Kenco, Inman Solar, and the environment."

This project was made possible in part by a solar installation grant from The Tennessee Solar Institute. The Tennessee Solar Institute is part of the Volunteer State Solar Initiative, a comprehensive solar energy and economic development program that was established using $62.5 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funding received by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

In total, more than 25 people were involved with completing the project that was funded in part by federal and state grant dollars.

David Barrueta Associates of Chattanooga, Tennessee provided marketing and research services to Inman Solar for solar projects in the Chattanooga area. David Barrueta Associates provided the initial contact between Kenco and Inman Solar.
