General Dynamics C4 Systems reports it has delivered 4,000 Sectera vIPer Universal Secure Phones to the U.S. Department of State since 2007.

The vIPer secure Voice Over Internet Protocol phones are replacing the department's secure terminal equipment phones for Top Secret voice and data communications.

"The vIPer phones are easy-to-use and deliver secure voice and data connectivity, with unprecedented dependability, for department personnel worldwide," said Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems. "With a touch of a button, calls can transition from unencrypted to encrypted and secure, immediately 'hardening' the communications network from a call's origin to its destination, from one office to another, or across continents."

General Dynamics said its vIPer phones are interoperable with all other government phones for secure communications and with Department of Defense networks. They can switch between analog and VoIP networks and have low satcom latency for satellite communications.
