Endeavour spends night in Texas![]() Endeavour en route. |
The 747-shuttle piggyback tandem left Edwards Air Force Base in California in the morning, made a refueling stop at Biggs Army Air Field in El Paso, Texas, and reached the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, formerly Carswell Air Force Base, in Fort Worth, Texas, about 4:12 p.m. EST.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said the next leg of Endeavour's trip would depend on the weather to the east but the spacecraft is expected to reach Kennedy Space Center Thursday or Friday.
Endeavour ended a 16-day mission to the International Space Station when it touched down Nov. 30 at Edwards. The shuttle was to have been flown back to Florida last weekend, but the trip was delayed by technical problems. Endeavour was launched Nov. 14 from Kennedy.
