C-5 Galaxy component ordered from Triumph Group
by Richard Tomkins
Washington (UPI) Oct 26, 2017

The Triumph Group is to produce aftermarket spare rotary actuators for the main landing gear on U.S. Air Force C-5 Galaxy aircraft.

The actuators were ordered in a two-year $22.9 million contract issued by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, located in Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.

"We are honored to be selected as a sole source supplier for these operation-critical parts on the C-5 Galaxy aircraft, the U.S. Air Force's largest and only strategic airlifter, and to support the service men and women who depend on the aircraft to transport them anywhere in the world on short notice," Tom Holzthum, executive vice president for Triumph Integrated Systems, said in a press release.

The spare actuators -- the number ordered was not disclosed -- will be manufactured at Triumph Group's facility in Park City, Utah.
