Bill Flynn, after more than 25 years of Navy experience, has joined Americom Government Services, Inc. (AGS) as Director of Navy Programs in their offices in McLean, VA.

Flynn comes to AGS from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) where he served as Director for the organization's Washington Operations Office. Prior to his assignment to SPAWAR, Flynn held leadership and program management positions within the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the Chief of Naval Operations. He is a retired Naval Officer, who served in the Submarine force.

Dave Jackson, Chief Operating Officer of AGS, remarked, "We are pleased to have hired someone with Bill's leadership experience to join us at such an important time. He will play an integral role in our growing business to further develop and implement solutions for the Navy."

Flynn will be responsible for directing all AGS custom network, hosted payload and transponder solutions offered to the U.S. Navy and will continue to pursue innovative approaches to meet the Navy's satellite communications requirements.

"AGS's experience providing the Navy with solutions for their Commercial Wideband Satellite Communications Program and TV Direct to Sailor gives us an exceptional understanding of afloat fleet warfighter requirements," Flynn said. "The Navy's worldwide operations present robust, far-reaching communication challenges. AGS has the experience and the know-how to address these requirements."

"AGS takes pride in understanding the critical nature of the Navy's communication capabilities and giving something extra to meet their mission needs," Flynn continued. "We look forward to the challenge of matching AGS solutions to their future requirements."

Americom Government Services Hires Angela Steever to Lead Government Contracts
Americom Government Services, Inc. (AGS) today announced that Angela Steever has joined as Director of Contracts in their offices in McLean, VA.

Steever's experiences include warranted contracting service to the Central Intelligence Agency and operations assistance at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France, and most recently she performed contract negotiations and proposal preparations for Booz Allen Hamilton.

Michael Cade, Vice President of Business Operations for AGS, remarked, "Angela's years as a warranted contracting officer, followed by private sector experience, enables her to bring both perspectives to AGS. We are currently refining our internal processes for operating in the government space - I trust Angela will have a large impact on our new business model."

As Director of Contracts for AGS, Steever will focus on contracting issues with complex negotiations and will ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisitions Regulations. Similar duties at AGS were previously performed by an in-house attorney. With the increase in government business and contracts, the company decided to acquire the support of a government contracts expert.

Steever explained, "There are substantial differences between commercial and contract practices. To successfully compete in the federal marketplace, a firm must have in-house expertise to interpret government requirements and regulations." With 100% of AGS's business serving government end-users, these skills sets and expertise will serve as a great resource for the growing company.
