Bangalore, Indias (PTI) Jan 22, 2007 The Indian space agency did not carry out a much-awaited full duration test of the indigenous cryogenic rocket engine. The test by the Indian Space Research Organisation was put off after an anomaly was noticed during the preparation stage, its Chairman G Madhavan Nair told PTI. "We have not proceeded with the test," Nair said from the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) at Mahendragiri near Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, where ISRO planned to fire the home-made cryogenic engine for 720 seconds. "We noticed some anomaly...deviation electronically," he said. "We will reschedule the test in a couple of weeks." ISRO sources said the test was initially slated for 4 pm today but was postponed for around 6.20 pm. A successful test would have put India in a select group of nations to have such a complex technology. Source: Press Trust of India Related Links ISRO Rocket Science News at Space-Travel.Com
