Arabsat 4A Delivered To Baikonur

The Proton-M launch vehicle to launch the Arabsat 4A communications satellite was delivered to Baikonur on Tuesday night. The same day in the morning an An-124 (Ruslan) airplane, with the Arabsat 4A aboard, landed at the Yubileiny airport, in Baikonur.
The launch vehicle and the satellite will be transported to AITB where specialists will start their preparations for launch.
The (window) launch of the Proton-M, with a Breeze-M upper stage, and ArabSat 4A, is scheduled for the night of February 28, through to March 1, 2006.

The first Kazakh telecommunications satellite, KazSat, will be launched "no later than June 20, 2006," Alexander Martynov of the Federal Space Agency said at a roundtable meeting on the prospects of development of Kazakh satellites on Thursday, reports Itar-Tass.
