Ansari Russian Space Tour Wraps Up With Group Snap Shots

 Expedition 13 astronauts Pavel Vinogradov, Jeffry Williams, and space-tourist Anousheh Ansari have recieved a red carpet welcome at the House of Cosmonauts of Yu. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, Star City, Russia.

N.N.Sevastiyanov, President and General Designer of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia congratulated the crew on a successful mission and presented the crew with traditional sets of RSC Energia medals. The cosmonauts also recieved gifts and souvenirs from representatives of Roscosmos, GCTC RGNII, NASA, ESA and other public organizations.

The cosmonauts reminisced about their Internation Space Station adventure and thanked all specialists for supporting the flight.

In other Russian cosmonaut news, the International Commission on cosmonauts selection has enlisted seven new cosmonaut candidates as members of Russian cosmonaut corps.

Among them are two S.P. Korolev RSC Energia engineers, Yelena Olegovna Serova and Nikolai Vladomirovich Tikhonov.

Firing Room 1 Gets A New Look
 Cape Canaveral FL (SPX) Oct 20, 2006
 There are exciting changes ahead at Kennedy Space Center, and the first step toward supporting future launches for NASA's Constellation Program is taking place in Firing Room 1 at the Launch Control Center. The Shuttle Processing Transition Team is working to decommission the firing room, also known as FR1, for transfer to the program by no later than January.
